Description
Leitz Wetzlar Elmarit 1:2.8/28 lens, serial number 2198000. This is the first version of the classic Leica M-mount 28mm wide-angle lens, produced around 1966. It features a compact design with manual focus and aperture control, 8 elements in 6 groups, and is suitable for Leica M rangefinder cameras. The lens focuses to approximately 0.7 m and stops down to f/22.

Condition Report
The lens shows light to moderate cosmetic wear consistent with age. There are minor scuffs, small paint chips and light marks on the black barrel and focusing ring. The glass appears clear with normal reflections and no obvious heavy fungus or significant haze visible in the images. Focus and aperture mechanisms look intact. Overall condition is good for a vintage Leica lens; full optical and mechanical performance.
In very good cosmetic condition with clean glass free of haze, scratches and cleaning marks. Very slight coating damage visible in one spot. This is the infinity stop, with 9 elements. Cap and hood 12501 M included. As well as a makers box. This is the rare Yellow scale version.
